Integrative Trichology for Hair Loss & Scalp Health

At Casa PRANA in Wilmington, NC, we take a deeper look at hair loss.

Hair shedding, thinning, and changes in density rarely tell the whole story on their own. Our Integrative Trichology Consultation looks at the scalp alongside your health history, lifestyle, nutrition, laboratory biomarkers, and other factors that may be contributing to changes in your hair.

Rather than starting with a treatment and hoping it is the right one, we start by understanding your individual pattern and the factors that may be influencing it.

The goal is clarity first, followed by a personalized strategy for supporting your scalp and hair over time.

Advanced Trichology Consultation

Your consultation is the starting point for clients experiencing hair loss, excessive shedding, thinning, or changes in density.

This is a comprehensive process that combines detailed history, scalp and follicle imaging, and laboratory biomarkers to help us better understand the factors that may be contributing to your concerns.

What’s included:

Scalp & Follicle Imaging

High-magnification imaging allows us to examine the scalp and follicles more closely, including patterns of miniaturization, density, buildup, scaling, inflammation, and other visible characteristics.

Comprehensive History Review

We look beyond what is happening today. Your health history, medications, nutrition, stress, lifestyle, hormonal changes, previous treatments, and timeline of hair loss all help us understand the bigger picture.

Personalized Lab Recommendations

When appropriate, we recommend bloodwork based on your history and presentation rather than relying on a standard panel for every client. (Lab fees are not included in the consultation.)

Comprehensive Lab Review

Once your results are available, we review relevant biomarkers in the context of your hair and scalp concerns and explain what they may mean for your overall strategy.

Personalized Recommendations

Your recommendations may include nutritional support, supplementation, lifestyle considerations, home care, scalp therapy, or referral to another healthcare provider when appropriate.

Customized Treatment Plan

All of the information gathered is brought together into a clear, individualized plan with recommended next steps.

Who This Is For

The Advanced Trichology Consultation is appropriate for clients experiencing:

  • Excessive or unexplained shedding

  • Progressive thinning

  • Loss of density

  • Widening of the part or increased scalp visibility

  • Patterned hair loss

  • Recurring episodes of hair loss

  • Hair loss associated with hormonal, nutritional, inflammatory, or other health changes

  • Hair and scalp concerns that have not improved with previous approaches

Investment: $385 (initial and follow up consultation is included)

What If My Concern Is Primarily My Scalp?

Not every scalp concern requires a full Hair Loss Consultation.

If your primary concern is persistent scaling, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, recurring irritation, buildup, or a chronically reactive scalp without hair loss or excessive shedding, one of our targeted scalp therapies may be a more appropriate place to begin.

PRANA Balance or PRANA Ritual were specifically developed for compromised scalp environments requiring deeper cleansing, targeted support, and stabilization.

If you are experiencing hair loss, thinning, or excessive shedding in addition to your scalp condition, the Advanced Trichology Consultation should be your first appointment.

Treatment Plan & Ongoing Care

There is no standard Casa PRANA hair loss protocol because there is no standard hair loss client.

Your recommendations are based on what we uncover through your consultation, scalp imaging, history, and laboratory biomarkers.

Depending on your individual needs, your plan may include:

  • In-office regenerative or therapeutic scalp treatments

  • Personalized home-care protocols

  • Nutritional and botanical support

  • Supplement recommendations

  • Lifestyle considerations

  • Collaboration or referral to your physician or another healthcare professional when appropriate

  • Progress imaging and periodic reassessment

Some clients require primarily internal support. Others benefit from a combination of internal support, home care, and in-office treatment.

The purpose of the consultation is to determine what makes sense for you before asking you to invest in a treatment program.

Why Choose Casa PRANA’s Trichology Center

At Casa PRANA, hair loss is not treated as a cosmetic issue. It’s understood as a signal from the body.

Your scalp is often one of the first places where internal imbalances show up. Instead of masking symptoms, we work to understand what your body is trying to communicate.

This approach combines advanced diagnostics with a holistic lens—so your results are not only visible, but sustainable.

What sets us apart:

Practitioner-Led Care
Your consultation and treatment strategy are led by Rebecca Oazem, Integrative Holistic Trichologist and Naturopathic Practitioner.

Advanced Scalp & Follicle Imaging
Magnified imaging allows us to identify patterns and changes that cannot be evaluated through a visual assessment alone.

Whole-Person Perspective
Nutrition, hormones, stress, lifestyle, medications, health history, and laboratory biomarkers may all provide important pieces of the puzzle.

Individualized Strategy
Your recommendations are built around your presentation and needs rather than placing every client into the same treatment protocol.

Continued Assessment
When you move forward with care, progress can be followed through imaging, reassessment, and adjustments to your plan when appropriate.

What to Expect:

Your initial consultation lasts approximately 45 -60 minutes.

Before your appointment, you will complete a comprehensive intake so we can review your history and concerns.

During your visit, we will discuss your hair-loss timeline, complete scalp and follicle imaging, review relevant history, and determine whether additional laboratory information would be helpful.

If bloodwork is recommended, most results are available within approximately 7–14 business days, depending on the laboratory and tests ordered.

Once your results are received, they are reviewed in preparation for your follow-up consultation. During that appointment, we bring the information together, explain our findings, and walk you through your personalized recommendations and treatment options.

From initial consultation through follow-up, the process typically takes approximately two to three weeks, depending on laboratory turnaround time.

FAQs

How should I prepare for my consultation?

Please complete your intake forms and waivers thoroughly before your appointment. These will be sent by email after booking and must be completed in advance.

On the day of your consultation, arrive with your hair freshly washed, completely dry, and free from styling products, oils, dry shampoo, fibers, or scalp-covering powders. This allows us to obtain the clearest possible scalp and follicle images.

How long is the consultation?

Your initial consultation is approximately 60 minutes. Your follow-up consultation is also approximately 60 minutes.

Will I need bloodwork?

Not necessarily.

Lab recommendations are made based on your individual history, symptoms, existing results, and what we observe during your consultation. If you already have recent bloodwork, we may be able to review those results before recommending additional testing.

When will I receive my treatment plan?

If laboratory testing is recommended, your plan is finalized after those results have been reviewed.

At your follow-up appointment, we will walk through the findings together and discuss your personalized recommendations and treatment options. You will also receive your plan for future reference.

Do I need to commit to treatment immediately?

No.

The purpose of your consultation is to give you clarity about what we are seeing, what may be contributing to your concerns, and what options are available to you.

You can review your recommendations before deciding how you would like to proceed.

How long does it take to see results?

Hair growth is slow, and timelines vary considerably depending on the type and duration of hair loss, contributing factors, and the treatment approach.

Changes in scalp comfort or shedding may occur earlier, while visible changes in density and growth generally require several months to evaluate appropriately.

I have psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, or chronic scalp irritation. Do I need this consultation?

If your concern is limited primarily to the scalp and you are not experiencing hair loss, thinning, or excessive shedding, you may not need a full Hair Loss Consultation.

A targeted scalp therapy such as PRANA Balance may be the more appropriate starting point.

If hair loss or excessive shedding is also present, we recommend beginning with the Advanced Trichology Consultation.

Can you diagnose my hair loss or a medical condition?

Our trichology services are designed to assess hair and scalp patterns, identify potential contributing factors, and provide supportive recommendations within our scope of practice.

They do not replace medical diagnosis or treatment. When findings warrant medical evaluation, we may recommend that you work with your physician, dermatologist, or another licensed healthcare provider.

How can I schedule my consultation?

You can book your consultation online at any time or call Casa PRANA directly for assistance.

Once your appointment is booked, you will receive your electronic intake forms attached to your appointment confirmation. These must be completed before your visit.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Financing options are available for qualifying treatment programs once your personalized plan has been created.

Do you accept insurance?

Casa PRANA does not bill or participate with insurance.

Our consultations, scalp therapies, products, supplements, and treatment programs are self-pay.

What if I don't have insurance for laboratory testing?

Self-pay laboratory options are available for clients who do not have insurance coverage or prefer not to use insurance.

When laboratory testing is recommended, we can explain the available options and associated costs before you move forward.

Casa PRANA's trichology services are educational and supportive in nature and are not a substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed medical provider. When appropriate, clients may be referred to their physician, dermatologist, or another healthcare professional for further evaluation.
